Book launch, Covid, and a Podcast

Oh my.

Hello, again.

It has been quite a month. THE GIRL IN THE ZOO was officially launched February 14, 2023. I had big plans. These included; a big promotion on social media, a virtual launch, an in-person celebration and guesting on a podcast. Some of these things happened, and some did not.

Alas, four days before launch, I got Covid for the first time. And it was not the experience of many friends who’ve had a mild case that they barely noticed.

I got hit hard.

Parties were cancelled and promotion abandoned, as health became the priority.

Being fully vaccinated and boosted did not keep me from getting Covid, but kept me from the hospital, and I’m forever grateful to my loved ones who took care of me and my family. Sitting here today, I’m overwhelmed by the simplicity and enormity of good health.

Another thing that did happen February 14th, was the release of my podcast interview on ‘Fiction Writing Made Easy: With Savannah Gilbo’ - what a gift!

First, you should know what a great tool this podcast is for writers, Savannah’s succinct style makes it a gem amongst writing podcasts. I have learned so much from listening to other writers and their journeys.

Already, I have received so much kind feedback from her listenership. The idea that my wild ride into publishing could be beneficial or encouraging to another writer is both delightful and gratifying.
